This tall, athletic, 315 pound guard has made his living protecting Drew Bree’s in New Orleans. Now he’s on his way to “have Aaron Rodgers back.”
Jahri Evans has been a mainstay in an offense that routinely throws for over 5,000 yards. He also has paved the way for Mark Ingram to improve into a legitimate every down back. The monster sized lineman is now heading to a Packers team who will be looking to take full advantage of his skill and experience.
At thirty-three years old, Evans is nothing more than a giant band-aid. The good thing is he still has massive skills to go with his huge frame. The move gives the Packers, who have eight picks, the opportunity to focus on defense and running back earlier in the draft and find a project tackle later in the draft who they can develop.
Fans have made it clear to Ted Thompson and the Packers front office that the want Green Bay to focus less on bringing back the guys they’ve drafted and developed and signing outside guys. They are finally starting to get their way.
