Rivalry Sports: 2017 NFL Mock Draft

1. Cleveland Browns

Myles Garrett – DE – Texas A&M

No matter how you cut it this kid is crazy special. The Browns would be insane not to scoop him up and add him to their roster as a piece to build around for years to come.

2. San Francisco 49ers

Leonard Fournette – RB – LSU

The Niners have Carlos Hyde but they need a guy who can show up more than just part time for their squad. Fournette is potentially a game and franchise changer and that is exactly what this team needs right now.

3. Chicago Bears

Solomon Thomas – DE – Stanford

The Bears have always been a better team when they are built around an aggressive defense. Thomas gives them an excellent chance to get back there sooner than later.

4. Jacksonville Jaguars

Jamal Adams – S – LSU

Jacksonville’s defensive depth chart is loaded with tons of talent but it never hurts to add a once in a lifetime talent who not only affects the play on the field but can be a strong locker room presence as well.

5. Tennessee Titans

Forrest Lamp –  T/G – Western Kentucky

If you know anything about the interworking of the Titans scheme this just seems to make perfect sense. Tennessee wants to run the ball and with great bookend tackles already in place you can use Lamp at guard where many scouts believe he belongs anyway.

6. New York Jets

Deshaun Watson – QB – Clemson

Watson is a winner and the Jets could actually use a touch of that mentality leading their team. He’s got the skills and if he can hold up emotionally in the big city he could be a great playmaker for this team.

7.  Los Angeles Chargers

Malik Hooker – S – OSU

The Chargers defense improved massively last year and they have a chance to make it even better by bringing in an explosive young star at safety. Hooker would make the back end of this unit instantly better.

8. Carolina Panthers

Johnathon Allen – DE – Alabama

If Allen turns out to be the best player in the draft like many think he will, this defense would be disturbingly good and would be able to make strides toward being one of the most feared again.

9. Cincinnati Bengals

Mike Williams – WR – Clemson

This guy has the skills it takes to make it in the NFL as a number 1 type receiver. You line him up across from A.J. Green and this offense immediately becomes a nightmare for defenses.

10. Buffalo Bills

Marshon Lattimore – CB – OSU

The Bills are a very talented team who have   a chance to be taken seriously this year now that they have a new regime. Lattimore is the type of talent who can help take them to the next level.

11. New Orleans Saints

Derek Barnett – DE – Tennessee

The Saints have two picks in the first round and it seems they’ve made it very clear they are gonna be going defense with both. Barnett has shown he can be a huge difference maker which is exactly what a team who is trying to win now is looking for.

12. Cleveland Browns

Jabrill Peppers – S – Michigan

He’s one of those super rare talents that make it almost impossible to figure out just how good he is or even what position to play him at. The Browns need to find two superstars in the first round. Peppers could definitely be one of them.

13. Arizona Cardinals

Pat Mahomes II – QB – Texas Tech

The Cardinals could be the perfect landing spot for Mahomes. He wouldn’t have to start immediately which would be great for a player who still has some kinks to work out. Playing behind a veteran quarterback could be a blessing in disguise for the young gunslinger.

14. Philadelphia Eagles

Gareon Conley – CB – OSU

There aren’t many teams out there who don’t need a cornerback but the Eagles are getting desperate. Conley isn’t drawing the attention that some of the other defensive backs are but he could turn out to be the top d-back in the draft if he falls on the right roster.

15. Indianapolis Colts

Ruben Foster – LB – Alabama

I don’t think anyone is truly convinced that this kid is some kind of cancer but the rumors will probably be enough to make him fall just far enough to give someone a very decent value. He’s gonna be a force in the NFL and that is exactly what Indianapolis needs.

 16. Baltimore Ravens

John Ross – WR – Washington

The Ravens have a thing for deep threats and here is their chance to grab a guy who is very versatile but would love to connect with Flacco on a rainbow or two.

17. Washington Redskins

Haason Reddick – LB – Temple

A highly athletic talent who has the ability to be an outstanding and electric playmaker from the linebacker position. The Redskins who need all kind of help on defense are rumored to like him a lot.

18. Tennessee Titans

O.J. Howard – TE – Alabama

This kid is going to be a matchup issue for almost every defense. Tennessee has not had a ton of luck drafting receivers but they’ve done alright with their current tight end. Howard is basically a receiver in a huge body. Definitely worth a shot for a team with two first round picks.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Takkarist McKinley – DE – UCLA

This kid is going to drive offensive linemen insane in the NFL. In Tampa he will be a great addition to a young opportunistic defensive unit. He’s got a nonstop motor and a relentless desire to succeed.

20. Denver Broncos

Ryan Ramczyk – T – Wisconsin

The Broncos need to start adding top end talent on both sides of the ball. Even though  he doesn’t have the experience some lineman do he went through the Badgers system and will be a great contributor in the NFL.

21. Detroit Lions

Christian McCaffrey – RB – Stanford

This kid is explosive on the field as a runner or receiver, he also dominated the combine. If he falls into the right system he should continue that trend. He would be dynamic in a Matt Stafford led team.

22. Miami Dolphins

Corey Davis – WR – Western Michigan

This offense needs help taking some of the pressure off of the running game. With a prolific receiver who can establish himself as a leader on this team the Dolphins should have plenty of space to execute their game plan.

23. New York Giants

Taco Charlton – DE – Michigan

This just seems like the perfect fit in almost every way. The Giants love defensive linemen who can get to the quarterback in a hurry. He could eventually replace JPP.

24. Oakland Raiders

Dalvin Cook – RB – FSU

I like this pick more and more as the draft approaches. Cook is a great contrast to Marshawn Lynch and can take the year or two to grow into the spot that can eventually be his. Plus if Lynch goes down, Cook is his insurance policy.

25. Houston Texans

Mitch Trubisky – QB – North Carolina

This kid needs to go to a team that can give him a year or two to develop but that probably won’t happen so Houston is the next best spot. He can’t be any worse than what they had last year and this way he has time to perfect his skills with the help of a playoff to cover up his mistakes.

26. Seattle Seahawks
Cam Robinson – T – Alabama

The Seahawks line needs all the help it can get, why not one of the best Tackles available. They have the skill players to get back to the top now they just need to learn protect them.

27. Kansas City Chiefs

David Njoku – TE – Miami

Kansas City has some decent tight ends but no one with the ceiling this kid offers as he gets ready to take the league by storm. Alex Smith could always use another explosive playmaker.

28. Dallas Cowboys

Marlon Humphrey – CB – Alabama

Dallas needs defense, defense and more defense. This kid gives them a strong presence in their backfield and an opportunity to rebuild this unit after losing a couple of key players this offseason.

29. Green Bay Packers

Adoree Jackson- CB – USC

The Packers like positionless, hybrid, tweeners and as far as cornerbacks go it doesn’t get much better than Adoree Jackson. He has the explosive ability to not only make plays but to hang with the receivers who gouged Green Bay deep last season.

30. Pittsburgh Steelers

Tre’Davious White – CB – LSU

If you need a quiet leader who can cover the other teams best player and who won’t be a distraction off the field. This is your guy right here. Pittsburgh could use an image change and a positive influence in the locker room. The fact that White is a monster on the field doesn’t hurt either.

31. Atlanta Falcons

Tim Williams- DE – Alabama

Dan Quinn is a defensive minded coach who has a tremendous offense and a defense still stinging from a collapse in the Super Bowl. He also has the reigning sack leader on one side of the field, I’m sure he’d love to bring the heat from the other side as well.

32. New Orleans Saints

T.J.Watt – LB – Wisconsin

This kid had better college numbers then his brother J.J.. if he can continue that into the NFL, no one will even remember that the Saints gave up one of the better young receivers in the league to get him.
