Brewer Slug Their Way 4-2 Past Reds; Take Series Behind Another Solid Effort by Wily Peralta

Behind the scenes, the Brewers are talking to the Dodgers about a possible trade for Ryan Braun. On the field, the veteran is still jacking the ball like nothing has changed as he ripped a two run shot to deep right field. He had barely crossed the plate when Travis Shaw gave himself a birthday present with a solo shot to right.

The Brewers bats have been on absolute fire lately as they have won five out of the last six games and put themselves back in contention in the NL Central here in the early going. The chemistry hasn’t really evolved yet for this young team but the burst of power has made of for the lack of consistency.

In most cases the explosive offense has made up for the struggles the Crew has faced on the mound already this season but so far Peralta has been on point for manager Craig Counsel’s rotation. He did give up a two run homer on three hits and only struck out one in six innings but he did enough to get the win.

Eric Thames who has been a revelation for the Brewers and a nightmare for opposing hitters, blasted his sixth home run of the season to give Milwaukee some insurance.
